Corey Bindler, PT, DPT, CLT, PRPC

Corey Bindler seeks common ground with each of her patients in order to understand them as a holistic being, not just an ailment. A strong patient-physical therapist connection is essential for Corey. With each new appointment, she endeavors to find at least one touchpoint – some kind of commonality between her and her patient – to help build the trust necessary for a fruitful working relationship.

She began her career at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and in her six years working in the in-patient and out-patient settings, she saw countless men and women dealing with the fallout from intense surgeries and treatment interventions, and experiencing pelvic floor trauma as a result. Their experiences – the drastic side effects they encountered – drove her inspiration to learn to address these issues that she felt were way too common. Issues around the urinary tract, bowel, generalized pain that, when ameliorated, have the capacity to make life after cancer better and more joyful.

Corey met Stacey, founder of 5 Point PT, when she took her first ever pelvic floor course, and she quickly fell in love with the idea of working with a spectacularly diverse patient population; with 5 Point PT she saw a lot of potential for learning and growth.

A strong patient-physical therapist connection is essential for Corey. With each new appointment, she endeavors to find at least one touchpoint – some kind of commonality between her and her patient – to help build the trust necessary for a fruitful working relationship. She sees each patient not as a problem to solve, but a holistic human capable of healing and happiness.

When she’s not basking in the joyful smile of her new baby (she became a mom in 2018), Corey enjoys reading anything and everything. She also admits that exercise is what keeps her balanced – she prefers Pilates, Barre, and Yoga – practices that help her connect with her body and take time to focus on her movements.
